Known as a commuter town with a rich history in agriculture, the town's existing brand image lacked distinction and pride. The students of Art 546 competed to develop an identity that the town would eventually adopt. My solution was chosen as Windsor's new identity. In order to demonstrate their pride and differentiate Windsor from neighboring cities, the town governance was interested in an aesthetic that was dynamic but wholesome. They hoped that the final design would reference Windsor's commitment to sustainable agriculture, exemplified by its Token Creek Conservancy project. I was asked to design a basic wedding invitation and an insert that included the engagement party specifics and lodging information. The couple used vintage airplane pencil sharpeners as wedding favors, for which I created tags. Printed on a Vandercook Press with polymer on French Paper. Two hundred invitations, two hundred covers, four hundred inserts, one hundred tags. Each "passport" was hand-scored and assembled with adhesive photo corners. Tags hand-cut and punched. Invitation corners rounded manually. The richly layered textures build to create a lush soundscape both relaxing and overstimulating. I wanted my redesign to reflect the decadence of the record while respecting its ease. With a floral sleeve and gold interior, this design was created as a deluxe edition of the album that includes a poster and digipak in addition to the vinyl LP.
